NYGBR, Vol. 143, No. 3 (July 2003) pp. 193-3 - David Van Wickel witnesses will of Abraham Brinkerhoff. Abraham Brinkerhoff, Sr. of Newtown, Queens County, yeoman, left a will dated 27 June 1780, proved 7 October 1780 mentioning wife Elizabeth, nephew Abraham Brinkerhoff Rapalye, son of sister Elizabeth; nephew Abraham Polhemus, son of sister Anne; children of sister Anne Polhemus: Abraham, Allette, Theodorus, Charity, Jacob and George Polhemus; children of sister Elizabeth Rapalye: Jeromus, Catharine, Abraham Brinkerhoff, Allette and Richard Rapalye; Hendrick Brinkerhoff, son of sister Sarah; and children of sister Polly Bloodgood: Abraham, Allette and Elizabeth Bloodgood. Executors were to be cousins Samuel Waldron, Isaac Brinkerhoff and George Brinkerhoff, Jr. and "my executors are to pay to my sister Katharine an equal share." Witnesses were Elnathan Leverick, David Van Wickel, and Mary Bloodgood.

Familysearch.com (IGI) provides the following information on the ancestors of Richard Berrien Leverich. Richard's parents are Jesse Leverich (b. 13 Feb 1756, Newtown, NY, d. 3 Oct 1829, NY) and Grace Berrien (b. 24 Nov 1759). They married 1781, Newtown. Jesse's parents are William Leverich (b. 5 Oct 1723, Newtown, d. 15 Jan 1787, Newtown) and Hannah Way (one wife) and Dorothy Morse (other wife, b. 25 Jan 1728, Newtown and d. 17 Apr 1814, Newtown). Jesse and Dorothy were married on 15 Sep 1751. William's parents are John Leverich, Jr. (b. 1696, NY) and (three wives listed) Amy Moore, Susannah Field, and Sarah Titus. John m. Amy Moore 14 Dec 1720. John's parents are John Leverich, Sr. (b. abt 1664, prob. Newtown) and Hannah _____ (b. 1705, Newtown). John, Sr.'s parents are Caleb Leverich (b. 1638, prob, Newtown; d. 1717, Newtown) and Martha Cornish. Caleb's father was Rev. William Leverich (b. 1603 of Newtown, NY, d. 27 Mar 1677, Oyster Bay, NY). William's father was Saville Leverich, b. 1577, England. Saville's father was John Saville Leverich, b. bef. 1562, England.

1830 US Census for Newtown, Queens, NY lists Richard Leverich in a household that includes 1 male 10 to 15, 1 male 30 to 40, 1 male 60 to 70, 1 male 70 to 80, and one female 30 to 40.

1829, 30 Mar -- DVW of Newtown and Eunice, his wife to DVW Junr of same for $70 1/3 acre adj land of both parties. Signed D and E Van Wickel.
